  • a hexagon
  • sewing needle and thread
  • scissors

Making the Pinwheel Hexie


Note: As rewarding as that little “snip” might be 😉 – when you finish one of these Double-faced Hexies and you’re not sure yet how you are going to embellish them, it might be a good idea to not cut the sewing thread at the end, but just remove the needle and leave it for further use (for instance for sewing beads and sequins or attaching buttons, or for invisibly couching a coil in the center).

Your task today

Make as many Pinwheel Hexies as you like 🙂

Next time

Tomorrow = Day 7 we’re going to have a closer look at the family of backstitches.

You’ll need one or two Pinwheel Hexies, embroidery thread and needle, scissors.
